Born in Colombia and trained in Vienna, Daniel Rueda-Blanco enjoys an active life as a conductor and pianist; working on a wide range of repertoire and having a special interest in modern and contemporary music, as well as in concert programming and new concert formats.

 

Daniel has been appointed as the Assistant Conductor of the Aarhus Symfoniorkester (2022/2023). He works regularly with orchestras on an international level –among them the Staatstheater Mainz, the Stadttheater Gießen, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Medellín Philharmonic, and the Orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Beijing. Among several international awards, Daniel is Laureate of the X. International Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest 2019. Daniel is currently Conducting Fellow and Promoted Artist of the Forum Dirigieren des Deutschen Musikrats.

Some impressions from Auf dem Weg ("on the way"): A new concert format co-produced for the Festival KlangBildKlang of the mdw-University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. This "musical journey" explores reflections and situations around "being lost" and finding new paths, through spatial, asthetic and interactive possibilites.
